Spark Studio

To our Spark Studio Learners and Families,

Welcome to a brand new school year! We are so excited to begin this adventure with you and can’t wait to see all the fun, learning, and friendships that will grow in our studio.

During our first six weeks together, we’ll dive into exciting team-building activities to help us get to know one another. We’ll also explore meaningful topics like families, friendships, and emotions, learning more about ourselves and each other along the way.

Ms. Megan and  Ms. Kaitlin can’t wait to see you on Tuesday. We know the first day may feel a little scary, but you are so brave! We just know you are going to have so much fun!

Here’s to a joyful, inspiring, and unforgettable year in the Spark Studio!

Discovery Studio

Welcome back, Rebels! To those who are joining us for the first time, we would officially like to welcome you to the Discovery Studio! Discovery Studio is a space where curiosity, creativity and collaboration come together - a place where Rebels are empowered to explore their passions, take ownership of their learning and most importantly…have FUN! Discovery Studio Guides, Ms. Mel and Ms. Jenna, are eager to meet and reunite with each and every one of you next week as you begin your next big adventure.

Over the next six weeks, we will be getting to know one another as we build our community and create the culture for our studio this year. From teambuilding activities, creating and signing contracts, getting to know our special studio mascot and learning to navigate everything that makes Revel unique, the next six weeks will be jam-packed with so much to learn and do!

We hope you had a wonderful summer and look forward to greeting you as you cross the threshold on Tuesday!

Exploration & Launchpad Studio

“Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?”   -Mary Oliver.

As we dive into a new school year and a new adventure, Exploration Rebels will be pushed to new heights as we further develop our critical thinking skills, improve our collaboration and communication, and pursue our personal passions. There will be an increased focus on writing output to prepare for the years ahead, and we will work to ensure that each Rebel grows in confidence and belief in their own capabilities.

Over the first six weeks, Rebels will dive into the Hero’s Journey, work together to solve complex problems, and define who they are and their values as individuals and as members of our studio.

Launchpad Rebels have designed a challenging course of study that includes multiple mathematics courses, enriched English, AP Chemistry, AP Psychology, and more! Between University admissions and increasing their leadership, work experience, and working toward their Next Great Adventure, it is sure to be a busy year!

French

This year, learners will have the opportunity to learn French in a dynamic, creative, and fun way! The goal is to spark their curiosity and help them explore the language while discovering the richness of Francophone culture. We are not focusing only on workbooks or traditional exercises - we will play, cook, sing, create, and explore as we learn French. Learners will build their vocabulary and language skills, by experiencing French in relevant and meaningful contexts.

The program also includes learning about Francophone culture in many forms: traditions, music, food, stories, and diving into the history of French language. This approach is designed to motivate and to give learners confidence to communicate in French regardless of their level or experience. Whether through preparing a recipe in class, joining a group game, or singing a catchy song, Mme. Marianne is excited to guide you along your learning journey as you embark on the process of speaking another language.

An exciting linguistic and cultural journey awaits you!

Potential Discussion Ideas or Questions to Ask Your Rebel:

  • If you could choose one word to describe how you want this year to feel, what would it be and why?

  • What are you most excited to learn or try this year?

  • What is something you want your Guides or friends to know about you?

  • What is one thing you could do this week to help somebody feel welcome?
